Reality Shows

I bring a sharp eye and great RoboCam expertise for use in the reality show genre.

I have the technical competence and understanding of the systems to make sure they seamlessly blend into the shooting style and look of the show.  I can paint and evaluate iris and video gain levels quickly and efficiently so in post-production you have excellent picture quality to blend with the other cameras.

Because of my years of Jib Operation experience in almost every genre of production I have the technical skills to accurately control the cameras, not only in panning and tilting, but in the more critical functions of zoom and focus.  Unlike most RoboCam operators, I have extraordinary focus and zoom skills that were developed through years of challenging camera operation.  Some RoboCam cameras have better zoom and focus capabilities than others, so accuracy can only be assured on the higher quality, more sophisticated units.

I know how to place RoboCams based on observation of the flow of people in a room and when possible an analysis of the targets to be recorded.  I also know how to work with the Art department in developing blinds that allow the cameras to be hidden without overly restricting the maximum surveillance capability.

I carefully listen to the targets and try to anticipate their movements so I can position the cameras accordingly.  I develop presets so the cameras have the best and tightest shot possible without being overbearing.

Being stealthy and having a minimal impact on the area to be observed, I work quietly and efficiently so there is no intrusion into the moment.

Concerts

Concerts are where RoboCams can shine and I have the skill set and understanding of music coverage that comes from years of live concert performance coverage with Jibs, Steadicams, and Hand-Held Cameras.

Because RoboCams have such a small footprint they can be placed almost anywhere.  By using special mounts they can be quickly located on various areas of the stage or audience to give the concert audience that added experience they demand.

Depending on the camera system selected I can do on-air moves of the lead singer, provide dynamic coverage of the drums or percussion instruments, give that grand rear of stage looking into the audience with the light patterns shot that captures the drama of the event, and much more.

The cameras can be placed on the front edge of the stage in critical positions to provide coverage of members of the band from a low angle that does not interfere with audience participation.

RoboCams offer productions the ability to place cameras on the stage with a minimal footprint, and offer excellent picture quality so they can be mixed with other cameras.  I have the ability to operate the camera like any camera mounted on a tripod so I can do on-Air moves that fit the tempo of the music and give the audience an incredible perspective that enhances their experience.

Meetings & Corporate Events

I can offer the Producer as many as 3 cameras for the price of 1.  Because RoboCams have greatly improved motors and servo systems, it is possible to provide the producer with cameras that are fully capable of tracking the presenter and provide smooth pan, tilts, zoom, and focus.  Because of the small footprint RoboCams have and the wide variety of mounting options, RoboCams can be placed more efficiently with greater coverage capability.

For projects with audience participation, RoboCams can be positioned for both stage and audience coverage so when a question is asked the RoboCam can quickly and effortlessly shoot the audience participant and can remain on them while the panel answers their question.   RoboCams can supplement or replace hand-held and tripod mounted cameras giving the show greater shot choices and far superior coverage.

Because I follow the content of the show, I will have the right camera with the right coverage at the right time.  I know how to maximize the use of RoboCams for Corporate events

Talk Shows

Talk Shows and Court Shows can use RoboCams for music performances, audience coverage, backstage views, sketches, etc.  They can be placed in positions that are not practical for a human operated camera, and can deliver the shot that provides coverage that would put a camera in the shot of other cameras.

Sports

The RoboCam is now good enough to cover many sporting events and can be placed in positions that would normally be too dangerous for a camera with a human operator.  Because the cameras have such a small footprint they can be placed in many positions that normally would not allow a camera to be.  They can be set up high above the action in the rafters, or placed ground level for a striking angle that is rarely seen.  They can be placed virtually anywhere the weight can be supported.  They can also be quickly moved to different locations so you expand coverage before, during, and after the game, greatly increasing their value.

Because I have a very strong Sports background as a camera operator I understand how RoboCams can greatly enhance the coverage of many sporting events.  But there are limitations as to the control of multiple RoboCams by one operator.  If the action is too fast, then only one camera may be able to be controlled at a time.  Often RoboCams are best suited to covering specific people or areas so your main cameras can stay focused on the action.

Entertainment

RoboCams now give the Producer dynamic camera positions that allow camera placement where it is not practical to put a human operator, such as on a balcony, or backstage looking out toward the audience.  Because the cameras are remotely controlled the shot is not fixed and can be adjusted to provide the right coverage at the right time.

One RoboCam Operator can give you multiple points of view and deliver the additional coverage that is not normally affordable.  Because the cameras are of such high quality they can often be mixed with other broadcast grade cameras with little or no noticeable difference to the average viewer.
